A look at USA of today with focus on society and culture. The concept of the "American dream" will be examined in some non-fiction texts, but the course also includes a couple of modern American short stories. So textual analysis of both types are included in the course.

This course focuses on the theme of crime in modern American society. It deals with both cultural and political issues, and will include fiction as well as non-fiction in text and film. Rhetorical analysis will be applied in details.
