The language of Influencers (10 pages)
The growing significance of influencers on social media is the base of this theme. The class will dive into British and American influencers and examine their universes and the way they engage in the world and how they use language as a tool.
The focus is on developing a vocabulary for analysis and interpretation of language:
- morphology: the use and effect of the different word classes.
- sentence types: the use and effect of declarative, interrogative, imperative and exclamatory sentences.
- semantics: the use and effect of semantical choices.
