Titel 5 5: Animal Farm

We are now going to read an entire fictional work, Animal Farm, by George Orwell, published in 1945. Time magazine chose the book as one of the 100 best English-language novels (1923 to 2005), and it also featured at number 31 on the Modern Library List of Best 20th-Century Novels.

As an introduction to the author and Animal Farm, we look at Orwell's essay, Why I Write. We apply point-of-view, setting, characters, composition, language and style, and themes and message, as well as the fable as genre, to analyse and interpret the novel. We use the historical approach to reading the text, look at the context in which the literary work was written, and put emphasis on the cultural, societal/political and historical circumstances outside the literary work influencing the way it is written.

Grammar: pronouns (stedord), præpositions (forholdsord), conjunctions (bindeord). Written work: essay writing and analysis of fiction and non-fiction by means of Minlæring > Do it, write!
