The Power of Language (EKSAMEN)
Forløbet beskæftiger sig overordnet set med det engelske sprog. Vi kommer her ind på sprogets udvikling både hvad angår grammatik og ordforråd. Eleverne kommer til at stifte kendskab til Old English, Middle English, Early Modern English, Modern English samt forskelle på American og British English. Ydermere vil eleverne blive introduceret til idiomatik. Herefter arbejder vi med det engelske sprog som lingua franca samt globalt kommunikationssprog, inden vi undersøger de muligheder og den styrke, som der ligger i sproget. Vi arbejder med retorisk analyse ud fra det retoriske pentagram, og vi kigger på appelformerne samt retoriske virkemidler. Herefter ser vi filmen ’The King’s Speech’ med særlig fokus på sprogs betydning og sprogets magt. Eleverne præsenteres slutteligt for forskellige politiske taler.
