- forstå forholdsvis komplekse mundtlige engelske tekster og samtaler af en vis længde om almene og faglige emner fra forskellige regioner og i forskellige stillejer
- analysere og beskrive engelsk sprog grammatisk og stilistisk med anvendelse af relevant faglig terminologi
̶ gøre rede for indhold, synspunkter og sproglige særtræk i engelsksprogede tekster
̶ analysere og fortolke forskellige tekster med anvendelse af relevant faglig terminologi og metode
̶ perspektivere tekster erhvervsmæssigt, kulturelt, samfundsmæssigt og historisk

The focus of this topic has been on showing students a wide array of American literature across different time periods. Many texts have had a focus on the American Dream - especially inspired by the novel "Of Mice and Men", which we read during this topic.

Titel 7 Lingua Franca and Global English - EXAM TOPIC- 5%

Through this topic, the students are to learn about the importance of English as Lingua Franca and the widespread impact of the English language. To understand how English has obtained this position, they students will be introduced to linguistic history.

Afterwards, we will work with various examples of Lingua Franca as well as regional variations of English.

Titel 8 Globalization in Africa - EXAM TOPIC- 9,5 %

This topic has focused on the African continent and aimed at the students gaining an understanding of the region. During the topic, we focused mainly on Kenya, Nigeria, and South Africa to narrow down our focus. Here we looked at urbanization, globalization, economy, the oil industry etc. We have explored it as an area study with a brief historical introduction. The topic has had a focus on demographics as well as urbanization. To further limit an otherwise extensive topic, I have chosen the countries Kenya, Nigeria, and South Africa as our point of departure, but it has not excluded text more broadly dealing with the African continent.

Furthermore, to explore the culture and history of these African country, literature has been used. This gave the students an insight into various narratives and avoid the danger of a single story as Adiche tells us of.

Titel 9 US politics and issues - 9,5%

The students worked with the political system in the US along with some relevant issues. We explored the checks and balances system as well as the Democratic and Republican Party.

Furthermore, we looked at current issues such as immigration and ICE, government lock down, the current state of the Republican and Democratic Party.

We also had a lecture with Anders Agner in January where the students heard the status quo of the country and worked with an assignment.

Titel 10 Business and Disruption - EXAM TOPIC - 4 %

The purpose of this topic is for students to engage with current issues within the realm of business studies. By focusing on disruption, students will get a change to work with company profiles as well as engage with a SWOT analysis. Analytically, the focus will remain on non-fiction and students should be able to do a rhetorical analysis upon ending this topic.
