Titel 1 English as a global lingua franca

The English language is represented and spoken in all parts of the world, which explains why we call English a world language. A lingua franca is a language that is used as a means of communication by speakers from different linguistic backgrounds in many different circumstances. In this course we have focused both on the role of the English language as a lingua franca in different countries and the tendency to favor certain English dialects over others.
