Titel 2	Setting Out De fleste af de fiktive tekster, vi har læst, handler om at starte noget nyt og begive sig ind på hidtil ukendt territorie. De fleste er er taget fra antologien "Texting" fra Systime. Ved at læse fiktion lærer man at se og forstå andre menneskers synspunkter, udfordringer og bevæggrunde. Teksterne er noveller, der er overraskende, fængende og somme tider foruroligende. Teksterne foregår primært i USA. Vi opøver færdigheder i systematisk analyse af tekster, og arbejder med relevante fagbegreber og mundtlig og skriftlig kompetence. Følgende fiktionstekster er læst: - The New Girl - Son of Satan - Rendezvous - The Man Who Loved Flowers
Indhold	Kernestof: Homework: look at the photo on the first page of the text "The New Girl" and write 5 lines about it: what do you see? What about body language, surroundings, etc? Without having read the text, what do you think it will be about? Be prepared to read your lines in class. Titel 3	Gun Violence in the US (focus on school shootings) Vi har set på statistikker vedr. våbenkontrol bl.a. fra et eksamenssæt, som også har været elevernes første skriftlige eksamenssæt (fra maj 2023). Vi har talt om school shooting i forbindelse Columbine School Shooting og Parkland Highland shooting i Florida. Vi har set videoer med Sue Klebold og Emma Gonzalez. Vi har læst om "The Founding Fathers", "The Second Amendment", "The Brady Campaign" og om "NRA". Vi har diskuteret, hvad man i USA kan gøre for at undgå eller mindske skoleskyderier og drab generelt. Det er ikke et nemt spørgsmål at besvare. Vi har været inde på, om der er forskel på holdning til våben i hhv. det republikanske parti og det demokratiske parti.
