The focus of this topic will be American values and American identity from the settlers and the Founding Fathers until today.
What is the American Dream? What does it mean to be American? How do we recognize American identity with its history, values, and the American Dream - and how do we identify this in the political discourse.

In this topic we will take a closer look at the British empire and the colonies. Our focus will be on cultural meetings, globalisation, identity - and in particular Nigeria and South Africa before and today.
Group presentations about Nigeria.
In addition, we will cover aspects of English as Lingua Franca.
