A dream deferred
The course investigates the afro-american condition through the lens of the play "A Raisin in the Sun" This is done primarily in the time of the play, but also with perspectives to modern conditions. As such we have looked at both Pan-africanism, red-lining, Jim-crow laws, ghettoes, etc.
the work with the text has drawn upon the Poem Harlem, and used its various reflections on the result of deferring a dream to interpret the main characters responses to their reality.
