Titel 1 Business Ethics

BUSINESS ETHICS- LEARNING GOALS

-You learn what business ethics is and why is it important at all
-You learn the most important words and concepts related to the subject and you can actively use them
-You learn examples of unethical business practices and how do they affect us globally
-You are critical about what you see and read
-You participate in debates and you learn how to properly do it
-You reflect upon your own moral choices and take action if you find it convenient

This subject is based in many debates, so the students have learnt how to participate in debates, how to give their opinion and how to give proper feedback. Every class is introduced by an ethical question related to the issue of the day and the students have been very encouraged to be critical about heir own lifestyle.

Titel 2 India

INDIA- LEARNING GOALS
-You learn basic facts about the history of India with focus on its partition and independence.
-You learn basic facts about the British Indian Empire and the consequences of colonialism today.
-You read and analyse literature and political speeches related to the periods before and after India was a British colony.
-You learn some of the cultural concepts that cause most trouble in the Indian society such as caste, status of women and pigmentocracy.
-You learn basic facts about Bollywood and its role in Western culture.
-You learn vocabulary that you can use to describe how India was in its different historical periods and other Indian words that have been adopted by the English language
-You can be critical about some of the points of view expressed by different people when discussing India and its relationship to Britain.
-All in all, you get a basic view of India as a former British colony and you get a brief inside in its culture and society.

The subject will be divided into 4 parts:
-Partition and independence
-Colonialism
-Demarcations
-Bollywood

During this subject we have worked with text comprehension and speech analysis. The students have been introduced to rhetorical devices in political speeches and they have practiced wtih "HeforShe" (Emma Watson) and with "A Tryst with Destiny" (Colonialism, chapter 2).

Titel 9 The American Dream in Steinbeck´s Of Mice and Men

Vi læser værket Of Mice and Men i sin helhed med særlig henblik på tema og budskab, men kigger også på den historiske kontekst for romanen(novella)
Temaet "individet vs. kollektivet" studeres som hovedtema, - et tema som også berøres i Obamas tale "The American Promise".

Titel 11 A divided society(Woke vs Trump/Maga/Charlie Kirk)

I dette tema arbejder vi med med polariserede debatklima i USA - mellem konservative og liberale. Vi læser en række non-fiction tekster og vi bruger dem til at træne non-fiction analyse.
Vi kommer til at læse korte debatindlæg, taleuddrag, og poster fra de sociale medier. F.eks.
(linksene bliver lagt på senere) i denne studieplan.
