Spanning from 1955-1975 the conflict was a complex web of political, ideological, and strategic dynamics that involved not only the divided nation of Vietnam but also drew in major world powers, primarily the United States of America. The underlining aim of this theme The Vietnam War: The Eve of Destruction is to study in-depth the Vietnam War both the causes and consequences and the significant impact the historical conflict had on American society, politically, socially, economically and culturally. Arguably, the Vietnam War was the first war to come into American living rooms on a nightly basis, and the only conflict that ended in defeat for the American military. The ever-increasing involvement in the war caused turmoil on the home front, as anti-war protests became a feature of American life. A primarily aim of this theme is to put forward and discuss the following set statement: How did a country that had been barely known to most Americans came to define an era and leave an everlasting mark on America and Americans? - It is generally accepted the conflict in Vietnam can be seen and understood by six crucial and critical events. For many this American company has led the way in sustainability and environmental issues ever since its humble beginnings when Yvon Chouinard an accomplished rock climber, began selling hand forged mountain climbing gear in 1957. This theme intends to consider and give focus on the above statement to ascertain if the company Patagonia lives up to the above claim and is indeed a renown company with its business practices. The following thesis statement is to be put forward and studied during the course: "Patagonia is a world leader in both its environmental and entrepreneurial visions." Discuss. The theme intends also to give consideration to the issue of climate change and how companies are combating the notion of it business practices alongside the ever-increasing problem of climate change.
