Titel 1 Exam Topic: Africa


This unit focuses on Africa and the countries connected to the British Empire. The starting point is Adichie's speech on "The Danger of a Single Story" which is tied to the entire unit. Students begin by researching and presenting a country of their choice through a filmed news broadcast and then we study several texts from various countries in Africa. We also look at the role of English in African countries and English as a Lingua Franca.
