Taking primary leave in material from the text book “Horror” (Systime, 2017) the theme has been studied with particular focus on:
- Why people are attracted to horror as a genre.
- Freudian theory applied to horror literature as an analytical framework.
- Horror over time (carried out as group work and class presentations)

Titel 4 Shakespeare - Love and gender

In this course we investigate and discuss the terms 'love' and 'gender roles', and how these have been portrayed in English literature from Shakespeare's 'Romeo and Juliet' in the Renaissance to literature and non-fiction in the 21st century.
What is love and why is it a recurring theme in literature?
What norms and ideals exist, during these same periods, when speaking of gender roles?
