Titel 1	MODERN AMERICA🗽(EX) Forløb med fokus på splittelsen af amerikanerne. Via dokumentarklip og artikler ser forløbet på alle de områder, hvor USA gennem de seneste år er blevet mere og mere splittet. Ud over den stadigt mere accentuerede politiske splittelse ses også nærmere på holdninger og værdier generelt, ikke mindst religion og holdninger til abortspørgsmålet. Retoriske virkemidler, appelformer og Ciceros pentagram introduceres og anvendes på relevante tekster.

Værklæsning af Hemminways novellesamling 'In Our Time' (1925) lægger vægt på Hemmingways minimalistiske stil, binaries og brug af iceberg-teknikken samt historisk-kritisk læsning.
