- What characterises living organisms.
- Introduction to Cell biology with focus on structures and organelles.
Diffusion, osmosis and photsynthesis is covered as a part of NV, and will be a part of the biology syllabus.
- In the lab: Microscopy, osmosis, photosynthesis.

Nutrition:

- Function and overall structure of carbohydrates, fats and proteins.
- Enzymes, their function and properties.
- The daily diet, the nutrients, digestion and the alimentary canal.

Introduction to human physiology with focus on the circulatory system. Introduction to aerobic and anaerobic respiration.
The students will do a dissection of mouse to get an overview over the organs and tissue in mammals. Student presentations on subtopics dealing with different organs in the body.

Students will set up a simple experiment showing the effect of selected abiotic factors´effect on the germination and growth of cress.
The role of nitrate and phosphate in the ecosystem.
