Aspects of Britain (EXAM)
Vi har i dette forløb arbejdet med forskellige historiske, kulturelle og samfundsmæssige aspekter af Storbritannien. Formålet har været at få et overblik over vigtige historiske begivenheder og udviklingslinjer i britisk historie for bedre at kunne forstå nutidige problematikker i UK. Vi har haft fokus på følgende aspekter:
- Basic knowledge about the UK, Great Britain and the union
- Historical overview: Industrialisation, colonialism, WW1+WW2, decolonisation, immigration, EU, Brexit
- Social classes, hierarchy and inequality
- India as a colony and present day
- WW1 with a focus on poetry
- Multiculturalism in modern day UK
- student elected aspects
Vi har arbejdet med variation i genrer og trænet analyse af forskellige typer tekster og medier. Der har desuden været meget fokus på ordforråd, så vi gradvist har opbygget et sprog til at forstå, tale om og analysere britiske historiske, kulturelle og samfundsmæssige forhold i Storbritannien. Som en del af forløbet har vi arbejdet med et selvvalgt aspekt af Britain, hvor eleverne havde mulighed for selvstændigt at anvende deres viden, ordforråd og analytiske evner i en formidlingsopgave.
