We have read the novel Coraline and have worked with characterizations, setting, narrating, point of view, The Hollywood model and the structure of the novel.
What was the message of the novel? Who is the target audience?
Besides that we have worked with the gothic elemenst of the story and have read "La Belle Dame Sans Mercy", and "The Raven".
We have watched  and discussed "Something You Ought to Know", "Vincent" and "Thriller".
We have discussed who would represent the roles in the story best in a movieversion and which front cover of the novel would be bast to depict the story and the themes.

In this topic we have worked with the early nation and its founding document, The Declaration of Independence.
What does this document mean today?
We have focused on the attitude to immigrants and immigration starting with The Statue of Liberty and the poem, The New Colossus. Then we have looked at the attitude to immigration today through poetry, "A Father Tells His Son...", fiction, "Deporations at Breakfast", trailers from documentaries, political debates and the election.
We have worked with Martin Luther King's speech, "I Have a Dream" and we have examined the use of American icons the and now.
We have worked with the result of the election and the plans of Project 2025. We have read "Chapter 5" of The Handmaid's Tale and we have read an extract from Hillbilly Elegy.
We have discussed where The United States are headed now and what it might mean for equal rights.

In this topic we have discussed what gender is and what it means.
We have used The Genderbread Person to look at gender in terms of identity, orientation, expression and sex.
We participated in an event arranged by Zonta discussing "Grænser for ligestilling".
We have read poetry, "High Flight" which has a masculine approach to conquering the world. We have read an essay, "Women and Journeys" in which 2 storylines for literature are presented - you go on a journey or a stranger comes to town.
We have analyzed w Ted Talk claiming feminism is good for all - also men.
We have looked at gender roles in songs / music videos with Bruno Mars and Miley Cyrus.
We have looked at ads which deal with gender roles and question them.
We tried interactive positioning with "Crossing the Gender Line".
We have discussed female role models.
We have discussed the fluidity of gender in the short story "Black Arion".

We worked with George the Poet's podcast on being black in Britain and on the Grenfell tragedy.
We looked at the traditional class society in film and literature.
We discussed what it means to your status being an immigrant or of a different ethnicity.
What kind of prejudice does an immigrant meet?
We have looked at variations of the English language with MLE, English as a Lingua Franca and sociolects.
We watched the first episode of The Casual Vacancy and analyzed the village in terms of class, conflict and setting.
